Admission to the Investment Management Academy is selective and open to current sophomores and juniors.

Candidates learn more about the academy, the fund, and the recruiting process. Attendance is required before formal selection begins.
Step 02
Required preparation sessions introduce the concepts and expectations candidates should understand before the technical test.
Step 03
The technical test evaluates baseline investing knowledge, analytical thinking, and preparation from the required recruiting events.
Step 04
Selected candidates interview with a director to discuss their interest, preparation, and fit with the academy.
Step 05
Finalists complete a director interview before admission decisions are made for the Fall 2026 cohort.
Eligibility
Freshmen and sophomores in Gies College of Business are welcome to apply for the Fall 2026 recruitment cycle.
FIN 390 is recommended before applying. Candidates should be ready to discuss basic investing concepts and demonstrate preparation through the recruiting process.
Investment Portfolio Organization, or IPO, offers a structured introduction to public-market investing and can help students build a foundation before pursuing IMA.
